My passion is helping children's hidden talents shine
Teaching isn't just my profession—it's my passion and my personal journey.
When my daughter was diagnosed with dyslexia and ADHD I discovered that traditional teaching methods weren't enough. This led me to develop innovative learning techniques that worked not just for her, but for hundreds of other students who learn differently. These experiences have informed my approach over the past 15 years of tutoring students globally.
Every child deserves to feel understood and capable.
I combine:
Personliased learning strategies tailored to each child's thinking style
I get to know my tutees and love nothing more than finding creative methods that make learning engaging and memorable - whether using interesting and novel topics to convey the learning content, using creativity and movement or finding nifty strategies to bring complex concepts to life
Independence confidence-building techniques to help students believe in themselves and take exams in their stride
From approaching revision to dealing with the exam room and time management strategies I help students build and celebrate their personal strengths and build a tool box of mental and practical strategies to help them hit their goals for important assesments.
Growing at their own pace
Learning is a gradual process of transformation. Some concepts are conquered quickly, others require preparation, persistence, and longer term guidance. My approach to online tutoring embraces this natural rhythm of learning: Building confidence step by step, taking time to appreciate progress, finding joy in the journey, learning from challenges and celebrating each achievement.
Inspired Teaching, Inspired Learning
Coming to you from the Lake District, UK
I'm fortunate to call the Lake District home where every morning brings fresh inspiration and clarity of thought. From my desk, watching the changing light on the fells, I'm reminded daily that every journey - including learning - is uniquely beautiful. This special corner of the world, with its timeless ability to inspire clear thinking and creativity, shapes my approach to teaching in ways that benefit students across the UK.
Nature's Lessons in Learning
The Lake District teaches us that:
- Every view looks different from where you stand
- There are many paths to the same peak
- The best route is the one that suits you
- Every step forward is progress
- Sometimes we need to pause and reflect
- The summit is worth the journey
Every fell has it's own distinct character - so does your child
The Lake District has inspired generations of creative thinkers, from poets to scientists, artists to inventors. This same spirit of creativity and discovery infuses our approach to learning:
- Finding unexpected angles to tackle challenges
- Drawing connections between ideas
- Letting imagination guide understanding
- Building resilience through persistence
- Seeing the bigger picture while mastering the details
A different perspective on learning
The Lake District has inspired generations of creative thinkers, from poets to scientists, artists to inventors. This same spirit of creativity and discovery infuses our approach to learning:
- Finding unexpected angles to tackle challenges
- Drawing connections between ideas
- Letting imagination guide understanding
- Building resilience through persistence

What matters isn't the speed of the climb, but finding the route that works best for your child
Like climbing Helvellyn or Scafell Pike, every academic challenge is a mountain to be conquered at your child's own pace. Some paths are steep and direct, others wind more gently to the summit. Whether it's mastering mathematical concepts as steady as Skiddaw, or developing writing skills as flowing as Windermere, each child's journey is uniquely their own.
Up every mountain and across every valley
Whether preparing for 11+ exams, developing their creative writing, or mastering GCSE mathematics, we'll find their perfect path to the peak. Like any good mountain guide, I'll be there to:
- Support when the path seems steep
- Encourage when rest is needed
- Celebrate when milestones are reached
- Guide when directions are unclear
- Inspire when motivation wanes
